|Mary A. Browning
Mary Ann is a lifelong resident of Boone County and a graduate of Sherman High School. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Racine where she has served in various positions. Mary Ann is the Coordinator of Agape Cloak and Co-Founder of the Big Coal River Heritage Festival. She is also a member of the Eastern Star Chelyan Chapter, member of the Coal River Group where she was a board member for 10 years, a lifetime member of the WV Association of Retired School Employees and Chairman of the Big Coal River Branch-CRG. Mary Ann retired from the Boone County Board of Education after 30 years as a school secretary. She is a past President of the Boone County School Service Personnel Association, the WV School Service Personnel Association, and the Boone County Association of Retired School Employees.
As with the majority of our directors, Connie is a lifelong resident of Boone County. She earned her BS degree in Business from the University of Charleston and an MS degree in Management from Marshall University. Connie was an employee at the Elk Run Company for 34 years and has served as a Council Member for the Town of Whitesville. She has recently joined the efforts of Whitesville’s Turn This Town Around.
|Randell "Randy" Foxx
Randy has served as Chief Financial Officer at Boone Memorial Hospital for over 40 years and is the current Recorder for the City of Madison. Randy received his education from Indiana University School of Business, Morris Harvey College and SWVCTC. Randy volunteers and serves in several positions for Gideon's International, Rotary International, including an active membership with Madison Rotary Club, Health Care Financial Managers Association, United Way Volunteer Community Services Committee, the Board of Directors with United Way of Central WV and on the Board of Directors for a Professional Liability Insurance (CHART) Community Hospital Alternative For Risk Transfer. He is also a member of Bible Center Church. Randy previously has served as a Board member for the Boone County Educational Workshop, Boone County Career Center Business Community Education Committee, Boone County Ambulance Authority Board, Boone County Public Library Board and the Boone County United Way Board.
Paul is a lifelong resident of Boone County, graduating from Scott High School in 1965. Paul completed his B.S. degree in Agriculture Education at WVU and continued to further his education over the years. Paul's career started as a high school educator before becoming the county supervisor for FHA/USDA. Paul changed to the banking industry as Loan Administrator Officer, Senior Vice-President and then President of a local bank. Paul retired as Deputy Treasurer for Electronic Commerce. Paul's past and present memberships include Scott Band Boosters, 4-H Foundation, Boone County Schools Citizen Council, Madison Rotary Club, and has served as a Board member for the Boone County United Way, WV Economic Development Authority and SWVCTC. Paul has also represented John D. Perdue at the WV Housing Development Fund.
|Harry G. “Chip” Shaffer III
Chip, a founding member of the Boone County Community Foundation, is a life-long resident of Boone County, and is a 1973 graduate of Scott High School. He attended WVU and graduated with a law degree in 1981 and has since been a member at the law firm of Shaffer & Shaffer, PLLC. Chip has previously served in the following organizations: Governor’s Commission of School District Governance and Administration; WVU Alumni Association (Board of Directors, Past President); WVU Athletic Council; WVU Presidential Search Committee; Central WV Chapter of the American Red Cross (Board of Directors). He is presently involved with the Defense Research Institute; WV State Bar Association; Forth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference; Charleston Area Alliance (Board of Directors); Charleston Chamber of Commerce (Board of Directors, Secretary); Capital Area Development Corporation (Board of Directors); West Virginia Land and Mineral Owners Association; WV Bar Foundation (Board of Directors); Premier Bank (Board of Directors); Alderson Broaddus University Board of Trustees (Secretary, Vice Chair Presidential Search Committee); Boone County WVU Alumni and Friends (Past President and Charter Member); and the Madison Rotary Club (Past President). Chip also serves as an Executive Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America, Buckskin Council, and is a past Representative of the Buckskin Council to the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is currently the Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 289 in Madison. Chip is an active member of the Madison Baptist Church where he has served in various positions of leadership and teaches an adult class in Sunday School.
A long-term resident of Boone County, Connie has worked as the Managing Director since 2012. Connie earned an Associate Degree in Business from Southern WV Community and Technical College. Before coming to the Foundation, she worked as a Legal Assistant for seven years. She is an active member of the community, assisting groups such as Boone County 4-H and the Scott High Band Boosters. She also volunteers with her children’s many extra-curricular activities.
