Education Mini-Grant Application

Projects are completed during the 2026/27 traditional school year
Final report is due by the end of the 2026/27 school year

The Boone County Community Foundation serves the entire geographic area of Boone County, WV.


Guidelines & restrictions — read before applying

  • Ask for the amount you need, not the maximum available. A detailed budget is required.
  • Projects should reflect areas of need and show innovation and educational merit.
  • Your principal must approve this proposal before it’s submitted.
  • All materials and equipment purchased with grant funds become property of the Board of Education, not the individual teacher or grade level.
  • One application per classroom teacher.
  • The Board of Directors reviews all applications; the review process takes up to 45 days after the deadline. You’ll be notified in writing of the decision.

This grant does not support:

  • Computer hardware (computers, iPads, projectors, Kindles, whiteboards, etc.)
  • Textbooks
  • Gift or gas cards
  • Production of film or video programs
  • Travel expenses or school uniform purchases
  • Consultants, consultant fees, conferences, or workshop speakers
  • Staff/volunteer stipends, individual student aid, or fellowships
  • Teacher professional development (conferences, hotel fees, mileage, etc.)
  • Religious activities of religious organizations
